Our key highlights in 2018/19 include expanding our service reach with new Hear for Kids service outlets in Townsville and rolling out Ageing Well in NSW. As we complete the transition to the NDIS we have shifted our engagement with our stakeholders and our focus to service delivery outcomes.
Our governance rotation has also seen three new Directors join the Board and new priorities established. Key among these has been the creation of the Deaf Education Working Group and supporting our community through an expanded grants and sponsorships program.
Financially, Deaf Services has seen another year of strong growth recording a healthy surplus for purpose. In addition to our community responsibility, we remain commercially focused as we shift away from grant funding to fee for services. We are pleased to report all our services
performed above expectations and our investment portfolio continues to expand as we cement our future position.
We would like to sincerely thank our colleagues on the Board for their efforts and contribution over the past financial year. We would also like to congratulate the entire Deaf Services team nationally for their commitment to the community and to the future of our organisation.
